Kilauea Lighthouse

Not far from where we are staying is an historic lighthouse. Isabella found is so exciting. Apparently so did we. Between the three of us we took 153 pictures!!!

It was extra fun because the surf was up this day... way up... and there were some really spectacular views of waves crashing on the rocks

Family photo op in front of the lighthouse

We got there early... about 15 minutes before they were opened. Isabella could hardly wait to get it

Another beautiful day in paradise :-)

Crashing waves... photo #1... this water must be shooting up at least 40-50 feet!

Photo 2: Moments later the wave just climbs up the mountain

Photo 3: Another moment later the water drains down

Photo 4: Its hard to see, but as it drains down, a wave gathers momentum going out...

Photo 5: and makes a spectacular crash with the next wave coming in

And now the live action shot from my iPhone

With all that excitement, a sip of water is in order!

A view east from the lighthouse

North of the lighthouse... waves pummeled this little island

A last shot east of the lighthouse... waves crawling up the mountains again... what a day!
