Back home again and a visit to the doctor is in order

After a very long journey home we finally were all tucked in to our own beds around 1am last night. We slept to 8am and Bella to 10am!!!! So yes we were tired. I did tell Bella on the way home when she was the only kid on the flight still not sleeping that is she woke up at 6am this morning we would considered selling her. She said OK. Luckily she did sleep in so we could keep her. I felt something in my eye on the way home yesterday and this morning decided to see the doctor before I got worse. It was good I did because I have pink eye. I went home to tell James and Bella we have to wash our hand really well not so no one else will get it. As I tell them this I notice Bella's eye is red. So we pack up the car and went to see Bella's doctor who confirmed it was pink eye. So now we're two for three. Now who want to bet me when James will come down with it? I predict by tomorrow. Other than this we had a very nice relaxing day together, unpacking, cleaning and resting. Ahhhhhh home sweet home!!!!!!

Last Days in Kauai... Random Stories and Moments

Enjoying the beach... thankfully! if you look back at our blog last year, Isabella decided that Thanksgiving in Hawaii that she was afraid of the ocean so we spent almost no time at the beach. This year was great!

We 'snuck' into the Westin resort and used the pool. Isabella loved it!

At the Westin they had a water slide... I think we did this a hundred times!

We were so lucky to find such a perfect house... we'll post details

And we had plenty of time to relax on the Lanai

Isabella goes to bed with "Cha Cha" every night, her dog. Its getting a bit old and raggedy. We found another one here in Hawaii (we've been looking for a year!)

We learned the Princeville grocery store was determined to the most expensive grocery story in America two years ago!

We found a great burger place. Bubba's Burgers. I loved this sign (click on it)!

Isabella's first taste of a chocolate milkshake. She's hooked. She also loved that that Santa things are coming out

Happy Thanksgiving From Kauai

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Today we woke up to a massive storm and lucky us because it's our last day here. We've had such luck with the weather and it only rained at nights and mornings. Not bad for an Island also called the Garden Island because of it's daily showers.

We heard two days before we arrived they had 19 inches (48 cm) of rain in one day! Thanksgiving looks like it is going to be another drenching day like that. It absolutely poured all night and has been raining all morning.

Kilauea Lighthouse

Not far from where we are staying is an historic lighthouse. Isabella found is so exciting. Apparently so did we. Between the three of us we took 153 pictures!!!

It was extra fun because the surf was up this day... way up... and there were some really spectacular views of waves crashing on the rocks

We got there early... about 15 minutes before they were opened. Isabella could hardly wait to get it

Hawaiian Luau... Happy Birthday Andrea!

It is Andrea's birthday! How old you ask??? You know that's not polite to ask :-). We discovered a little family-oriented traditional Luau near the Na Pali Coast. The music and dancing was perfect for Isabella... I don't think I've ever seen her so mesmerized!

The Hula dancers were lovely and the musicians were fun and humorous and told wonderful stories about Hawaii and the music

Isabella really wanted to dance, but was shy. So Dad got up and danced with her!

But once she got over her shyness... she really show us how she can shake her hips! She even had friends join her

Kauai Helicopter Ride

Fredrica and Andrea saw all the real nature of Kauai by helicopter. If you've even come to Kauai this is a must! Their pilot was Bogart (great name for a helicopter pilot right) and was veteran pilot who use to a flying firefighter and also used to fly in the Mexican Gulf. The weather is super unpredictable... raining and overcast one minute and sunny the next. This couldn't have been a better morning... perfect sunny skies for the whole morning!

This was also a special day because it was Andrea's birthday!!!!
