Saturdays seem to the day Bella does not take a nap. She usually does well without it but with the heat at 6pm she just zonked out...standing up in her pink rain boots.

The Monkeys Have Finally Moved In

Boys are often such climbers... I see it in the parks and with friends all the time. Girls (at least Isabella) seems to have found this obsession a little later... she's almost 3.

She's even climbing in the most unlikely of places :-)

New Saturday routines and napping is over

We have a few new Saturday routines which involves Bella's two favorite things; trains and lunch. We take the train to Mission Valley and have lunch at Sammy's Wood fire Pizza. It takes us about 10 minutes on the train and then we have lunch watching the trains go by. The other new routine is that Bella seems to given up on napping, at least on Saturday. She will stay in bed and happily sing and read but she wont fall a sleep. She sleeps fine at night and any other day for napping, but Saturday's are special It's just another good day in a busy toddlers life.

A really big playground

There is a bouncy world not far from our house and for month whenever we pass it Bella tells us she wants to go there so finally we gave in and went. She loved it, James got exhausted from following her everywhere which required a lot of climbing. I felt like my blood pressure was reaching boiling point and I was a bout to have a heart attack. It was really scary.....for me!

Her personality is so great and we think everyday is changing and learning so much. She has this new expression when she is very excited, check it out.

Camping... Revisited

Things have been a bit busy so I didn't get to add some of the photos and videos from our camping trip a few weeks back. As you might have read down below, our first camping trip didn't turn out quite as we had hoped. We booked a spot in Julian... which is in the mountain and one of the most beautiful and lush places around here.

We knew we might be in for something different on the drive... and it look kinda like this:

I think Mom was the most disappointed.. after all the hard work to get us packed, food ready and drive out... always a big effort to travel with a little one.

Hoping not to be deterred, we setup the tent and Fredrica started making lunch

But the heat was just too much for nap time... despite Isabella's valiant effort.

In the end, we didn't stay... it was a bit windy and the tent was fairly loud flapping around which made Isabella a little worried.... we'll try again in a few months!

oral surgery gives time to reflect

So yes we've been out of the blogging world because I had oral surgery last week. I had to remove one of my implants I put in a couple of years ago and because of the damage it had done I also needed a skin graft. Not very fun and all I can say is it was hell putting them in and it was worse taking it out. The good news is I feel much better the bad news is I still can eat very much and according the notes they gave it will be like that up to two weeks!!! I will super skinny in two weeks if I keep this up. People know I'm not crazy about taking pain medication but should know if I need them I will take them but I don't like how they make me feel all dizzy and loopy. I only felt I needed to take two in the hours after the surgery and I do believe that's why I bounced back so quickly. 

 Today I did go to a friends  yoga class and it felt so good even if I could not do some of the poses. In the afternoon I've been enjoying reading in the garden and checking out my garden. It's growing like Isabella. Isabella loves our vegetable garden and was so excited when she saw that the cantaloupe plant is flowering. Usually I plant corn from seeds but this year it did not work out so instead I planted plants and they are now growing big. It's sure something special sitting here with my computer writing about the vegetables and fruit that's growing in front of me.

Camping

We little bit late on this post but we did go camping last weekend, just outside Julian.  Unfortunately the little outside Julian ended up being on the desert side so it was very hot, F100 eiiik!!! Well this did not concern Isabella who loved our campsite. The good news was we were pretty much the only ones there, the bad news was there was not much shade to put up our camp at.  However, James found a small shady place to set up tent on but while Bella was trying to a nap the sun moved so now we were in the sun making napping just not happening. It was a short camping trip and fun to be out doing something me and James used to love doing before we had Bella.

Lucky Bella

We feel lucky to have such special little girl but Bella felt lucky on Sunday when she found $5 while waiting for the train. I don't know how or where she found it but suddenly she handed me the money. I'm hoping the luck will continue and the amount will grow to let's hundreds. Maybe she will pay her own wedding one day this way;)

Busy little girl

Bella is a girl who likes to multi-task so this morning she was busy going potty, reading a book and still have time to sing Swedish songs. Check it out!!!

Another day in Paradise!

It has been so hot here lately in San Diego so there is not much you can do middle of the day.  We have a new routine on Sunday's after Bella's nap, we have a snack together in the garden. It's cinnamon buns from our friend and personal pastry chef, Jessica and my homemade Strawberry lemonade. It's our little special family time when we discuss what we want to rest of the day which usually ends up being......absolutely nothing. It's a great day.
