Sweden's 1st Annual Sand Castle Competition

When we lived in Stockholm we became friends with Ulrica and Gustav. They came to Encinitas and stayed with us while Ulrica was doing her Yoga teacher training 4 years ago.

Ulrica organized Sweden's first annual Sand Festival... where several teams made professional level sand castles/sculptures. It really a ton of fun to see Ulrica and Gustav... especially since they've had a baby since we last saw them.

First Annual :-)

A bit more about it

Ulrica and Fredrica

They made a huge sand boxes for the kids to play in

Finally we got smart and the dress came off... this was the day we were driving to Granna to have dinner with Susan

The sketch of the sand castle Ulrica and her friend were making

Day 2 when we stopped back again on our drive from Granna back to Stockholm

Another team was making a sand painting almost

Isabella immediately loved Ulrica

Hugs and kisses (and at this age this doesn't come easily with anyone)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

This area also had a playground with the theme of a troll village

Ulrica and her 18 month old daughter Vesper (she got the idea for her name from a James Bond movie)

On our way home... enjoying Polkagris
